B50A1300 Silicon Steel
In 1900, R.A. Hadfield and others in England first discovered that Si-Fe alloys containing 4% Si had good magnetic properties. 1903 saw the production of hot-rolled silicon steel sheets containing 1.0 to 4.5% Si in Germany and the United States. 1906 saw the replacement of mild steel for the manufacture of motor and transformer cores. In 1968, Goh Taguchi of Japan used a combination of manganese sulfide and aluminum nitride inhibitors and a large rate of cold rolling method to make (110)[001] high magnetic orientation silicon steel, the grain orientation of this material is more accurate, iron loss and magnetic properties further improved.
