EN 1.4002 stainless steel plate has marginal stainless steel corrosion resistance. Unlike other grades in the 12% chromium category, EN 1.4002 stainless steel plate is not susceptible to extensive hardening by high temperature air cooling. EN 1.4002 stainless steel plate is commonly used in the manufacture of annealing boxes, steam nozzles, quenching racks, bulkheads and other products that cannot be annealed after welding.
